This building for Honeywell Technology Solutions is located in the premises of the Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. The total built up area is about 45,000 square feet on three floors. Besides managers' rooms and conference facilities, it houses work stations for about 310 computer programmers. Though the interior lay outs were originally done by us, the final execution of these were done by Honeywell's own designers. The terrace floor houses an employee canteen.
The building is located in the college campus where all the other structures have been done in a more traditional style. When this building came up for design, they wanted it to be modern,but also to be done having a traditional ambience rather than being a totally glass and aluminium structure. Traditional elements have, therefore, been worked out - distinguished by the tall pillars and the sloping edge to the roof line which has been done with aluminium composite panels. The jali that has been incorporated in the parapet is a standard feature in all the buildings on the campus.
